PATOLIS-e HAS CLOSED ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2006.

As we have previously announced, since October 1, 2006, the legal status information from PATOLIS-e is available only in the following two methods. We hope that you will find one of these methods suitable and reasonable for your needs on JP patent/utility model information.
1. Legal Status Search Service by Information Agents
Our business partners, European Patent Office and Questel･Orbit continue to serve as PATOLIS-e Legal Status Information Agents. Customers send their request to a agent by specifying the Japanese application/document numbers of their interest. The agent implements Document Number Search on behalf and reports the result to the customers. For details of Legal Status Search Service by Information Agents, please contact the followings.

2. Gateway Service provided by Service Provider
This is the only online service for PATOLIS-e information. One of our business partners, Questel･Orbit started PATOLIS-e Gateway Service on October 1, 2006. In the service, a number search interface is available to obtain the 2 display formats P803(Bibliographic information, Abstract[PAJ for Patents published until June 29,2006], Representative Drawing, Legal Status) and P807(Bibliographic information, Legal Status, Viability information). Questel･Orbit also plans to start the enhanced service at the beginning of 2007. Those who wish to use these services need to have a service contract between Questel･Orbit.
